I sit and look at a photograph
It shows the desolate, man-made
Landscape of Romo.

But there is more to it,
Hidden in the landscae.
A figure fights to find a way through it,
Formed from life, death and humanity’s trace in the world.

I am no longer alone in my contemplation.
A face stares back at me
And tells me that everything is on the point
Of vanishing.

It is this that helps us
Accept.
And we need to understand this
Before it is over.

I sit and look at a photograph

It shows the desolate, man-made

Landscape of Romo.

But there is more to it,

Hidden in the landscae.

A figure fights to find a way through it,

Formed from life, death and humanity’s trace in the world.

I am no longer alone in my contemplation.

A face stares back at me

And tells me that everything is on the point

Of vanishing.

It is this that helps us

Accept.

And we need to understand this

Before it is over.
